Dogs have always been part of who I am. Our first family dog, Sasha, was a black lab mix we rescued from the SPCA. She went everywhere with us. I still remember a trip to Newfoundland when we had to check her in the belly of the plane. As a child, I was filled with worry. Would she be cold? Would she get lost? Would she be all alone?
When we landed, Sasha came bounding out of her crate, tail wagging and completely fine. All my childhood fears in that moment melted away. That moment left me with a lesson that has stayed with me to this day. Life is unpredictable, and our responsibility is to prepare thoughtfully and surround ourselves with people we trust to protect what matters most.
Fast forward to today, dogs still play a large role in my life. My wife and I have two golden retrievers, Campbell and Peach, who bring endless joy to our home. There is a reason the saying “a dog is man’s best friend” has stood the test of time.
Trust is at the center of any meaningful relationship, and at LeConte Wealth, we take that same philosophy of trust and apply it to our clients. Life has its curveballs, and our role is to adapt and provide guidance. Sometimes this means building complex financial strategies to protect a family’s legacy. Other times it is as simple as creating an environment where clients feel at home.
One of my earliest memories here was entertaining a client’s children during a meeting so their mother could focus on what mattered most. Over time, we have also welcomed many four-legged visitors into our office. We encourage clients to bring their pets because we want them to feel comfortable. When you are with us, you are not in a “boardroom,” you are with family.
Just as I once had to trust the airline staff to care for Sasha on her journey, our clients place their trust in us to protect their wealth, their family, and their future. That trust is something we never take lightly. Whether you come to us with a complicated financial question or simply a leash in hand, at LeConte Wealth you will always feel welcome.
