People often assume that because I work at an investment firm, I came in with a deep background in finance or that I track the stock market every day. The truth? I didn’t start this role with either of those.
What I did bring was a willingness to learn, a strong attention to detail, and a clear understanding that behind every account is a real person trusting us with something deeply important. I didn’t need to understand every investment strategy on day one to understand the value of doing things the right way.
Early on at LeConte, I learned that roles behind the scenes, including operations, paperwork, and follow-through, are just as essential as portfolio construction. Accuracy, organization, patience, and clear communication aren’t supporting functions. They’re foundational. They’re part of how we deliver Purpose-Built Planning in real, tangible ways.
One reason the learning curve never felt overwhelming is the level of teamwork and support within our firm. That collaboration doesn’t just shape how employees grow, it directly improves the client experience. When our team works in sync, clients don’t have to manage the process themselves or wonder what happens next. They don’t have to ask, “Did I miss something?” or “What’s my next step?” They can trust that we’re already thinking ahead.
The extra steps and details we take on are intentional. They’re designed to create a smooth, reassuring experience so clients can focus on what actually matters in their lives, not paperwork, deadlines, or logistics.
My growth here hasn’t been about mastering finance overnight. We have experienced team members for that. It’s been about learning the process, what forms are needed, why details matter, and how each step fits into a bigger picture centered on a client’s purpose. For clients, that means fewer back-and-forth emails, fewer surprises, and greater confidence that their requests and investments are being handled thoughtfully and aligned with their overall plan.
I want our clients to know that behind every completed form and processed request is a team carefully working together to make sure everything is done right. Even behind the scenes, it feels meaningful to be part of a process that directly supports the trust our clients place in LeConte Wealth.
It turns out you don’t have to predict the market to make a difference. Sometimes, making a difference means knowing the right step, the right form, and the right teammate to bring in next so the plan works the way it was purpose-built to.
