Purpose Built Planning Director, Client Advisor

Alex Willard, EA

“It’s not about me” is a mentality that I strive to display daily. That mentality prompts my passion to serve others and cultivate meaningful relationships, which seamlessly aligns with the fiduciary values at LeConte. Stewardship is a value that I keep at the forefront of my life. I look forward to working with others by educating and asking tough questions that help them see what’s possible and pursue purpose.

Since 2016, Alex has worked hard to maintain a “sponge” mentality, soaking up knowledge from his seasoned co-workers and other industry leaders by spending most of his time reading and learning about taxation and financial planning.

After graduating from Maryville College in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Accounting (minor in Sociology), Alex accepted a role as a Planning Associate. Since then, he has passed the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination (Series 65) and the Special Enrollment Examination (SEE). The SEE along with other requirements allowed him to receive the federal designation, Enrolled Agent (EA), handed down by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. In his current role, he provides support to clients in tax preparation, tax strategy, financial planning and supports, as well as manages client relationships.

Alex actively serves in several Blount County leadership roles. He serves on the United Way of Blount County Board of Directors and is a member of the Executive Committee. In addition, he currently serves on the Pellissippi State Foundation Board of Trustees and the Finance Committee. He’s previously served on the Blount County Youth Court Board as Treasurer, is a Blount County Young Professionals founding member, and is a Leadership Blount 2023 alum.

Alex is married to his wife, Hannah, and they reside in the Maryville community with their son. They together enjoy serving with their Foothills Church community, traveling to new places, cheering on the Maryville College Fighting Scots/Tennessee Volunteers and also enjoy spending time with their family.

Trump Accounts: Where Do They Actually Fit?
Trump Accounts: Where Do They Actually Fit?
Every time a new financial account or tax strategy makes headlines, the same cycle begins. Excitement builds. Marketing ramps up. And before long, people are asking the same question: “Should I get one?” It’s a fair question. But it’s rarely the first one we should ask. At LeConte Wealth, we don’t believe in collecting financial...
I Am Spartan: What A Race Taught Me
I Am Spartan: What A Race Taught Me
“Don’t let the fear of failing keep you from trying. If you do fail, use what you learned to do better next time.” Those were the words the announcer shouted over the microphone as we stood at the starting line of the Spartan Race in Asheville, North Carolina. He was trying to prepare us for...

Back to School for Your Finances: Stop Cramming Money Management into the Last Days
Every fall, students head back to school with fresh notebooks, sharpened pencils, and big plans for the year ahead. Before that happens, though, many families spend the final weeks of summer trying to squeeze every last activity into the calendar. One more vacation. One more baseball game. One more trip before the routine returns. I’m...

What Yo-Yo Ma at Red Rocks, Grand Teton National Park, the World Cup in Mexico, and Purpose-Built Planning Have in Common
Finding harmony between beauty, preparation, and perspective.  Some experiences stay with you long after they end.  Watching Yo-Yo Ma perform beneath the towering sandstone formations of Red Rocks Amphitheatre is one of them. Standing in Grand Teton National Park as the first rays of sunlight illuminate the mountains is another. And for soccer fans, attending...
