Client Advisor

Alex Willard

“It’s not about me” is a mentality that I strive to display daily. That mentality prompts my passion to serve others and cultivate meaningful relationships, which seamlessly aligns with the fiduciary values at LeConte. Stewardship is a value that I keep at the forefront of my life. I look forward to working with others by educating and asking tough questions that help them see what’s possible.

Since 2016, Alex has worked hard to maintain a “sponge” mentality, soaking up knowledge from his seasoned co-workers and other industry leaders by spending most of his time reading and learning about taxation and financial planning.

After graduating from Maryville College in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Accounting (minor in Sociology), Alex accepted a role as a Planning Associate. Since then, he has passed the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination (Series 65) and is currently studying to become an IRS Enrolled Agent (EA). In his current role, he provides support to clients in tax preparation, tax strategy, financial planning and supports, as well as, manages client relationships.

Alex actively serves in several Blount County leadership roles. He serves on the United Way of Blount County Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Community CLS (Connect. Lead. Serve.) club and the Executive Committee with United Way. In addition, he currently serves as the Treasurer of the Board for the Blount County Youth Court and serves as Vice-Chair with the Blount County Young Professionals.

Alex married his wife, Hannah Willard, October 2021 and they reside in the Alcoa community with their miniature Golden Doodle, Dixie. They together enjoy serving with their church locally, abroad and also enjoy spending time with their family.

Lessons from the Old-Timers
Lessons from the Old-Timers
In a recent discussion with some friends about our modern-day, techno-savvy society, one of my friends said, “Well, we’re so old fashioned that we still plant by the signs!” Here is the background for those unfamiliar with this term. Why is Tax Season so stressful?
Why is Tax Season so stressful?
As we get close to the filing season for your 2022 taxes, I’ve seen several articles talking about how to make tax filing easier. It got me to thinking about why tax season is so stressful for many people. As a CPA, this is the most stressful time of my year. I often feel like...
We Finally Have Clarity
We Finally Have Clarity
It passed! While many were still in a deep sleep from the 8 meals they ate per day over the Christmas holiday, the SECURE 2.0 Act was signed into law on December 29, 2022. My colleague, Jon Dockery, wrote about the possibility of this change in May of 2022 when he penned the blog post:...
In one Year and Out the Other
In one Year and Out the Other
It’s that time of year again. When gym parking lots are full, and you attempt to order a salad instead of a burger to help kickstart those resolutions you’ve made.  When you make motivational post-it notes to put on your bathroom mirror and you track how many steps you’re taking and water you’re drinking every...
