“The real art of conducting consists in transitions.” Gustav Mahler

As an ensemble musician, I learned from an early age that the performing group was only as strong as their conductor. That individual had the ability to lead the entire group through the key changes, starts and finishes to achieve perfection. That’s precisely what I do for our clients at LeConte Wealth Management.

In my 20-year career, my focus has always been helping people make good choices.  Whether it’s how to create a charitable giving strategy that will help a worthy non-profit for years to come after their passing, or how to pass hard-earned wealth down to the next generation in the most tax efficient manner, I’ve always been passionate about helping clients realize those possibilities.  I focus on the feelings and emotions of financial decisions and to help clients not just visualize what their goals are, but how to reach them.

Kevin is a co-founder of and Managing Partner of LWM.  He also serves as the Chief Compliance Officer. He creates charitable giving strategies and complex financial planning outcomes for the firm’s clients and serves as the Chief Financial Officer at LeConte.

He holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Political Science from Furman University.

Kevin began his career in the Trust Department of AmSouth Bank in Birmingham, Alabama where he focused on creating risk adjusted portfolios for high net worth clients in central Alabama.  He then joined SunTrust Investment Services as a Private Financial Advisor in Tennessee, where he partnered with Hoy Grimm to advise high net worth clients throughout the region.

He has served as Chair of the board of the United Way of Blount County, Chair of the board of Leadership Blount, and as the VIP Chair of the Blount Partnership.  He’s led multiple fundraising campaigns with United Way and the Clayton Center for the Arts at Maryville College , and has been involved in various roles with New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center, Maryville City Schools Foundation and Community Food Connection.   He and his family are actively involved at First United Methodist Church in Maryville, where he sings in the choir and performs in worship as an instrumentalist.

He and his wife, Vanessa, live in Maryville with their four children.

Beyond The Numbers
Beyond The Numbers
“We’re a hospitality company that happens to do wealth management.” That simple statement has completely changed the way I think about our profession. In April, some of our team attended the Unreasonable Hospitality Summit in Nashville to hear Will Guidara (pictured above) speak. For those who may not be familiar with him, Will is the...

High Income, Low Wealth: The Trap Many Business Owners Fall Into
I’ve met a lot of business owners over the years who, on paper, are doing incredibly well. Revenue is growing. The business is busy. Employees are getting paid. Clients are happy. From the outside looking in, it appears they’ve made it. Behind the scenes, the story is often very different. Despite earning a great income,...

The Rockets’ Red Glare
There is a little-known connection between the Star Spangled Banner and Maryville, Tennessee. Everyone knows that Francis Scott Key authored the poem, “Defence of Fort M’Henry” as he watched the bombardment of Baltimore from a British navy ship on September 13th and 14th in 1814. Few folks remember that Key was a successful attorney who...
Is All This Worth It
Is All This Worth It
Money reveals… Not just what we can afford, but what we fear, value, pursue, avoid, and ultimately trust. As I reflect back on my upbringing and even well into the early years of my career, I thought I understood money because I understood the societal rules around it. Save consistently. Avoid unnecessary debt. Work hard....
